Finger Test motivator , live sharing of finger tests and Pump Site Change Reminder.
A child that has 6 Blood Glucose tests a day has over 2000 lancets pressed into their finger tips per year. Over a lifetime this can cause callouses and desensitize the fingertips. To help the health of the finger tips, people with Type 1 Diabetes are advised to test on the sides of their fingers and to alternate fingers used.
The FingerSticker app was designed by parents within weeks of their 3 year old daughter being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. FingerSticker aims to help children with the anxiety and discomfort of testing their Blood Glucose Levels(BGL).
Children are encouraged by being given the power of choosing their test finger , entering their BGL and choosing stickers to place on their hands within the app. FingerSticker gives the child choices, and as children with Type 1 currently have no choice but to live with the chronic disease, FingerSticker makes these choices all theirs!!
FingerSticker records test sites, encouraging rotation of test sites and keeps a record of BGL results. FingerSticker has a share capability giving parents and caregivers current readings when their child or children are in another persons care.
This sharing avoids re-testing on the same finger and shares BGL results in real time.
FingerSticker also has a handy Pump Site Change Reminder with push notifications. FingerSticker is a simple, child focused app aimed at making the daily requirements of Type 1 Diabetes easier to manage.
Fingersticker is a proud supporter of JDRF, and is pleased to be affiliated in helping JDRF find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
